GSD Selected to Renovate Warehouse Project in South Florida

Postal Center International first opened its doors in 1984 as company handling certified mail, parcels and priority overnight packages for clients that could not meet their USPS pickup deadline. Industrial Warehouse Space Renovation in Fort Lauderdale
As PCI’s business has evolved through the years the company saw the need to expand requiring the renovation of their newly acquired warehouse and office space. GSD was hired to renovate this new location in Fort Lauderdale and consolidate two other facilities in this single warehouse. The scope of work was predominantly industrial, requiring extensive electrical and mechanical services, the strategic selection of the subcontracting team for the work was critical to a successful delivery.
The timely moving, receipt and installation of millions of dollars’ worth of equipment onto the site was required. The equipment, sourced from the German, Heidelberg Printing Co. is some of the most technically advanced in use,. This equipment required isolated foundations, detached chilling systems, with separate exhaust, electric, low voltage, water and pressurized air, there are over 50 pieces of similar equipment utilized, all requiring similar infra-structure.
The Importance of Meeting Strict Time Requirements
Timing restrictions also played a vital part in GSD’s role in this project. While other contractors proposed to complete the project in six months, GSD was able to develop a critical path schedule and complete this project within four months. This allowed the client to move into their renovated warehouse and office space in time to prepare for their industry’s busy season.
