GSD Contracting Acquired by Platino Holdings
Franjo Construction Corporation (“Franjo” or the “Company”), a regional leader in general contracting headquartered in Homestead, PA announced the Company’s acquisition of Fort Lauderdale-based GSD Contracting (“GSD”), a full-service commercial contractor with more than 35-years of success in South Florida.
The Holding Company, Platino Holdings, will maintain controlling interest of GSD. GSD will continue to operate under the GSD Contracting name as a subsidiary under Platino Holdings. GSD’s former managers and founders, Greg DeJohn and Guy DeJohn, will remain with the Company in an advisory capacity.

Since 1980, GSD Contracting has built and renovated hundreds of hotels, churches, banks, high-end retail stores, malls, car dealers and assisted living facilities, GSD also built one of the most trusted brands in the industry. GSD has been recognized by the South Florida Business Journal as one of the top 25 commercial contractors in the market.
Ready To Expand Operations
Similar to GSD, Franjo is synonymous with strength, stability and lasting relationships. The acquisition will bolster GSD’s ability to service clients in key sectors such as healthcare, mixed-used and multi-unit residential projects, hotels, big box retail, and grocery stores. GSD will recruit additional talented construction professionals to further expand operations.

Experienced Construction Management Team
Also announced is the promotion of Franjo Construction veteran Jason Bates to Executive Vice President. Bates will be responsible for the planning, directing and managing of GSD operations.

Bates is a certified general contractor with more than 15-years of industry experience and holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Pennsylvania College of Technology.
