GSD Hits The Right Notes With New Wentworth Gallery at Hard Rock Hotel
October 24, 2019 marked the official grand opening of the all-new and bolder Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The upright, curvaceous guitar-shaped hotel stands 450-feet and features a truncated “neck” and “strings” that shoots potent LED cannon lights 30,000 feet into the South Florida night’s sky. This iconic hotel has been a decade in the making at a cost of $1.5 billion dollars. And proudly, GSD Contracting played a part of this historic project.
GSD specializes in tenant improvement projects with strict budgets and demanding deadlines. Wentworth Gallery knows this and this is why the world-renowned art retailer selected GSD to complete its latest high-profile project at the new Hard Rock Casino Hotel. All stores and amenities needed to be operational on the grand opening date.
Rock Around The Clock
This 1,450sf interior art gallery build-out required dual superintendents for around the clock work. Multiple shifts 7-days a week. Shawn Desjardins, Chadd Desjardins, and Jean Noel Sessa have more than 70 years of combined construction management experience. They oversaw every aspect of the project including negotiating and managing subcontractors. They have worked on Wentworth projects in the past and understand our client’s expectations and needs.
Experienced Commercial Construction Supervisors
Working at such a high profile location presented its own list of challenges. If the looming deadline was not enough, our construction management supervisors had to game plan every day with our project teams and subcontractors to work through and around hundreds of other hotel construction projects involving thousands of workers … all attempting to complete their work by the same grand opening deadline. Our experienced superintendents made sure our team was on time every day, and complied with many security and safety protocols.
We’re Getting The Band Back Together
Over the years, GSD completed more than 20 galleries for Wentworth. The offer of repeat business supports GSD’s mission of building trust with clients. And the band will get back together again soon when GSD begins the next Wentworth Gallery project.
