GSD Completes Flagler Village Restaurant Build-Out

GSD Contracting completed a tenant build-out and installation for Here & Now, a new tapas and craft cocktails restaurant located in F.A.T. Village Arts District, an emerging urban market similar to Wynwood and Brooklyn.

The new restaurant concept is located at 433 NW 1st Ave Fort Lauderdale. Here & Now is the brainchild of veteran restaurateur Johnny Gosyne who saw an opportunity to bring a different, craftier style tapas restaurant to the popular area. Gosyne has 20-years experience in the restaurant industry with projects throughout South and Central Florida.

Here & Now is a high-energy restaurant that is catching on with locals. It offers a fun atmosphere for guests to enjoy great food and creative craft cocktails prepared by skilled mixologists. The menu features tailored tapas highlighted by flavorful cuts of meat and fish. The restaurant is open 7-days a week from 11am-2am and can accommodate up to 96 guests.



F.A.T Village

Flagler Arts & Technology has quickly become one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Broward County. Fueled by millennials, arts, and design, the neighborhood is transforming into a creative commune in Fort Lauderdale’s urban core. Because of its great location, several new restaurant concepts like Here & Now have opened in the last 12 months. F.A.T. Village is steps from Fort Lauderdale’s central business district, Las Olas Blvd, and world-renowned beaches. The area is expected to increase in popularity once Brightline’s new Fort Lauderdale station is operational making it easier for residents of Miami, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach to travel in style to the area.

Restaurant Renovation Project Details

The tenant improvement project involved the build-out of a 3,453 square foot single-story corner space designed for a new restaurant concept. The property features new storefront windows and a paved parking area in the back. GSD handled the initial build-out and the restaurant installation. This included infrastructure, restaurant equipment, exterior and interior design finishes.

Throughout the five-month project, GSD made suggestions to improve the overall aesthetics and operational efficiencies. This involved consulting and modifying the original equipment and kitchen layouts to finest of details like light fixtures. GSD’s team was lead by Nelson Rincon, who has built numerous restaurants for GSD, and brings the level of experience and skills necessary for ta project like Here & Now to be an amazing successful. With the number of layout and equipment changes requested by the client, Nelson and team figured out ways to save the client money along the way.
