Religious & Church Construction

We Build Faith

The story of Notre Dame d’Haiti Catholic Church in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood is one of perseverance, dedication and community. For eight years the congregation raised funds to replace the Notre Dame Academy cafeteria where they worshipped and planned to build their own church. It was an audacious plan for a low-income community, but all the more rewarding when those donations, large and small, added up. With the support of the Archdiocese of Miami, and constructed by GSD, the church was finally built and dedicated in February of 2014.

Winners of the Builders Association of South Florida Gold Trophy Award & Blue Ribbon for Outstanding Feature for the Altar and Lighting of the Notre Dame d’Haiti Catholic Church.

On hand for the dedication, led by Rev. Fr. Jean-Mary, was Archbishop Thomas Wenski of the Archdioceses of Miami and dignitaries from Haiti and area churches.

GSD Contracting, after previous experience constructing for many area parishes such as St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. Maximillian Kolby, St. Mark’s, and St. Benedict’s, was honored to be the church builders for this important centerpiece of the Haitian community. The church is simple yet reverent in design perfectly reflecting the humble nature of its congregants.

While many of our church constructions have been Catholic, we welcome projects from any faith. No matter what faith we may serve, we are always cognizant of the need to be respectful and empathetic. We insist that the conduct of all workers on site be above reproach, showing respect for building a sacred facility.
