We are proud to announce the topping out of the new 102-room Hampton Inn Hotel in Pompano Beach, Florida. Construction of the seven-story hotel and its pool began once permitted in March 2016. An event was held on September 22, 2016 to commemorate the concrete casting of the roof structure. The “topping out” ceremony celebrates not only a milestone in the construction process, but also that we are meeting the project’s scheduling forecasts.
New Hotel Construction Requires Planning, Teamwork
The collaboration with owner, architect, and vendors began May 2015 with our inclusion in the bidding process. By September, we began working in earnest with the team to identify and assess project delivery risk, working to mitigate those risks by clarifying project scope for the benefit of all. Value-focused cost options were proposed, weighed by the team, and implemented where appropriate. The Hampton Inn Hotel is scheduled to officially welcome its first guests on March 23rd, 2017.
“We have been very pleased with the whole process while working with Greg DeJohn, Guy DeJohn and the entire team at GSD Contracting,” said Jay Patel, developer of the Hampton Inn. “Every step has been carefully planned out and schedules are adhered to, which is important for a project of this magnitude.”
“The Hampton Inn has really been a team effort, and we are proud to be the lead contractor for this project, which will bring additional tourists, revenue, and jobs to Pompano Beach,” said Greg DeJohn, President and CEO of GSD Contracting.
Long thought of as Ft. Lauderdale’s sleepy neighbor, Pompano Beach is undergoing a renaissance amid ambitious redevelopment plans. The new Hampton Inn Hotel is 15 minutes from Fort Lauderdale Airport, five minutes from the Intracoastal Waterway, beaches, community parks, and newly renovated pier. The hotel is surrounded by a thriving waterfront community and Pompano Beach’s 300 restaurants and more than 50 local attractions.
